Dear ARC,

It's hard to believe another school year is coming to a close. Where is the time going? We have some in the church graduating from college and high school. Watching our students growth on a daily is not noticeable; but as we step back and perhaps look at a picture or video clip, we see quite a change in them. Congratulations to all our graduates! But as I look in a spiritual sense I also see such growth in those who I remember first coming to the Lord. Probably the biggest reason for such growth is their willingness to become disciples of the Lord. Daily discipleship also requires study as well as good daily habits. For our students to be able to graduate they had to study daily and show up for class and then be tested. If we as a Body ever cease from studying the Word of God or quit being discipline in our church attendance or refuse to be tested, we will not grow to the level God desires for each of us. Continue to allow God to develop you into what He desires so one day you also will graduate to a place called heaven!

It seems everyone is talking about the early spring we are experiencing. Everything looks so beautiful! The Bible lets us know that nature itself teaches us that there is a God. Every year when I see the trees and flowers come to life, I can't help but to feel an extra amount of hope that life comes from that which appears to be dead. There are many lives I have had the privilege of watching come to life and enjoy abundance in God.

Easter Sunday is the day we celebrate Jesus coming to life after a dismal death. Be sure to invite everyone you know to our 10:00 a.m. Easter service. I would love to see the church packed out for this celebration service. After service children 11 and under will have an Easter egg hunt.

Dear ARC,

As the year is still young I am thinking of two important ingredients we have focused on this year that I believe will continue pointing our church in the direction God has for us – The Word and Prayer. The Word of God has come alive like I have never seen at ARC. God's Word has challenged us to become more Apostolic and Christlike as well as given much comfort. Personal prayer has captured the attention and hearts of many individuals in our church. This is why our services have been so powerful. Please do not let up and continue to meet with God in prayer. Keep the church along with your families as your focus. As a result of prayer we are once again seeing new members at ARC. Please make them feel a part and welcome.

Section Four youth week is this Tuesday through Friday. We will not have Wednesday Bible study due to youth week. We have again this year a lot of involvement with this youth week. Come and be a blessing and support to our young people. We have always brought a good number to these exciting services. Let's be a part of a section wide outpouring of the Holy Ghost!

Dear ARC,

I want to take a moment to let you know what the upcoming Wednesday Bible studies will be for the next few months. February through part of April we will be doing a study on Psalm 23 and how it relates to life in the 21^st century. I'm excited about how the Word will help us deal with some of the pressure life brings our way. Beginning in May we will be showing an excellent DVD marriage series called “Love and Respect”. These lessons will be a great blessing not only to our married couples, but those looking to be married in the future. Wednesday Bible studies are a blessing to the health of our church. We have had good attendance so far this year and I'm looking forward to trend continuing.

In February we will be passing out new giving commitment cards for missions and paying off the church mortgage. Ask God to speak to your heart concerning the amount He would have you to give. If we do our part I know without a doubt God will do His!

We have an exciting month coming up at ARC. Let's keep believing God to do the miraculous!

Dear Church Family,

2012 is now upon us along with a brand new start to another year. It allows us to have a clean slate and put the failures and disappointments from 2011 behind us. I know, as well as you, there will difficulty this year; but we have another opportunity to face whatever may come with a hope that God is with us in the future as He has been in the past. I feel if we can learn from the past we can continue to grow and see God do even greater works this coming year. We have many exciting events on the calendar and it's going to be a fun and exhilarating ride. I cannot wait! I encourage you to do your best to grow in the Lord, not only for your sake, but for the sake of those you hold dear in your life. Be an inspiration and an example of what it is to be Christ-like and you will see God's blessings in your life.

Two major praojects will hopefully be accomplished by spring of this year. Depending on the weather, the parking lot should be finished by Easter. Also, our new shuttle bus should be up and running in the next few weeks.

Dear ARC,

What beautiful time of year. The leaves changing, the cool brisk morning air, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We have much to be thankful for. God has been good to us in many ways. He not only has given us salvation, but He also furnishes us with temporal blessings. This month we ought to wake up and go to sleep with thanksgiving on our lips. A thankful heart is a happy heart! As the holiday season begins make sure you keep in focus why we do what we do during this season of thanksgiving and gift giving. Focus on those who are less fortunate and be a blessing.

Dear ARC,

As we are gearing up for our October revival, revival fires are once again burning at ARC. We have the opportunity of making 2011 the greatest year of revival ARC has ever experienced. Already we have baptized more in a year than we ever have and are close in the number who have received the Holy Ghost. We always have an exceptional revival with the Gallys and I know this year will be no different. The key is for the church to be ready to receive what God has for us. If we invest in prayer and fasting we will hear from heaven and the River of God will flow throughout the services. Let's be in full revival mode when “revival” begins October 21^st. Once again, we will be having a hayride. I would like to thank Brother Derek Mathis for providing a flatbed trailer, as well as Brother Hill and Brother DeLong for providing the hay and wood for a fun, filled evening. Be sure to invite friends to a week of inspiration and great memories starting on October 21^st and going through October 26^th.

We have had quite a few new ones come to ARC and have been greatly touched in our services. Please continue to make them feel welcome and stay in contact with those who may miss a service. This is a crucial time of growth in their lives and the Body is needed more than ever to help nurture them along.

Let's keep having incredible services and bring what we receive to the world. Show them that the Apostolic Church is still alive and well!

It looks like summer is behind us now and what a productive summer it was. From family trips and incredible services to lots and lots of activities, including SFC fundraisers. This year was another SFC record breaking year for ARC! I cannot say how grateful I am to be a part of such a giving and hard working church. Dear ARC,

What a month of July! We have had some of the greatest services ARC has ever had. Many souls have been changed by the power of the Holy Ghost. July was a record setting month in baptisms as well as attendance. We are believing God to carry this mighty move of the Holy Ghost through the remainder of the year.

I want to thank the entire church for your hard work at Rock-A-Block. There is so much planning that goes into an event of this magnitude. What a great success this outreach was once again. The leadership of Kyle, Jackie and Ray allowed Rock-A-Block to live up to its expectation. I'm proud to be a part of a church that works together for a common purpose in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Keep up the good work and continue to enjoy the blessings of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Dear ARC,

I have very much enjoyed the “special” services we have had the past couple months. From the Mother's Day and Father's Day services to Pentecost Sunday. Each one was unique in its own way and quite a blessing. Todays Freedom Service should be no different. It is a privilege to be able to celebrate our citizenship of the greatest country in the world. Absolutely, there are many problems we face as Americans; but we are free to worship the true and living God with no restrictions. That alone is a reason to have a patriotic feeling as we enjoy this celebration together.

As we are gearing up for Rock-a-Block, I would like to ask everyone to be involved in this important outreach. Please plan on being there that day to help out. Also, we are asking for everyone to help with the cost as well as passing out fliers and getting the word out. We had nine help last weekend passing out fliers. There will be two more Saturdays to pass out fliers – July 16^th and 23^rd. Thank you in advance for caring for your community. Dear ARC,

I want to say what a fun day we had for our Sunday school picnic. I truly enjoy being around church family. I had a lot of positive feed back so we are going to make this an annual event. This will not take the place of our Sunday school picnic that is held every year; but in addition to. It is important for the church to fellowship outside the walls of our church building.

We are gearing up for Rock-a-Block and I would like to ask everyone to be sure to involve your family in this important outreach. Please plan on being there that day to help out. Also, we are asking for everyone to help with the cost as well as passing out fliers and getting the word out. It will take the entire church working together to make it a success like it was last year. Thank you in advance for your caring for our community and more importantly, souls. Finally, June 12^th will be Pentecost Sunday. We are expecting a Holy Ghost explosion and I'm asking you to seek out those desiring the Holy Ghost. Invite them on the 12^th, and by faith they will experience an outpouring of God's Spirit! This will be a single 1:00 p.m. service.

Dear ARC,

II Chron 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

I do not believe there is any scripture in the Bible that is more clear than this verse on how to get the attention of heaven. There has been a significant group in our church who have decided to do exactly what this verse tells us we ought to do. The humble beginnings of prayer meetings taking place is very significant. They have started with a desire to simply draw closer to the the Lord. Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” As a result of prayer God is filling hearts with His righteousness. If there were ever a day we needed the righteousness of God, it is in the day we are living. I believe with all my heart that if we, as a church Body, can be filled with righteousness instead of worldliness, God will send a great harvest of unsaved souls that are waiting to be a part of something pure and true. Whatever you do, please continue to pray & seek the face of God in humility - you will be blessed, your family will be blessed and so will your city!

Don't forget the Sunday School picnic is May 14^th at noon. There will also be a SFC washer tournament at the picnic. We will have a great time of fellowship – make sure you are there!

I would like to designate the month of March as a month of prayer and fasting. I'm asking everyone to put forth an extra effort to fast some meals throughout the week and also pray for revival to continue. Anytime there is a moving of the Spirit, the enemy is also on the move. Be very careful to identity his influence among the Body. Protect the revival we are experiencing at ARC! I believe prayer and fasting will cause us to receive what God has for His Church in these last days. I love each and everyone of you and I am here to help you in any way possible in drawing closer to the Lord. Continue to invite souls to the House of the Lord as you have been.

Dear ARC,

Making friends is one of the greatest ways to show Jesus in your life. We have the capacity to be friends with many people at the same time. The name “Jesus” may not even come up in the course of new friendships, yet Christ is present through the love you show. Inviting “friends” over for games or going out to eat with them is a good way to nurture this new friendship. What I'm saying? Expand your social life to new people who don't have a church to go to. These are exciting days and I look forward to meeting your new friends!

Men, don't forget to sign up for men's conference at the end of the month! Details are on the bulletin board in the fellowship area. It is always an anointed conference and the fellowship is incredible!

Marion H. Chasteen, age 69, of Greenville, formerly of Old Ripley, passed away at 12:03 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.

Marion H. Chasteen, age 69, of Greenville, formerly of Old Ripley, passed away at 12:03 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Frank Crossinn and Rev. George Bankston officiating. Interment will follow in the Reno-Bethel Cemetery near Reno, Illinois. For those who desire memorial contributions may be made to Marion's Family. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening and monday until service time at Donnell-Wiegand.

Marion Henry Chasteen, the son of Isaiah and Maria Ragena Dettmas Chasteen, was born on September 12, 1941 in Troy. He was raised there and attended the public schools. He graduated from the last class in Troy High School in 1959. Early in life he worked for Granite City Steel then did office work in St. Louis. In 1977 be began driving over the road as a truck driver and continued for 28 years, the last 10 years for Don Jones Trucking.

Marion and Judith A. Eaton were united in marriage on July 15, 1961 at the Presbyterian Church in Troy and they have enjoyed over 49 years together. She survives as does their son Jon Michael (Fanny) Chasteen of Old Ripley, and one grandson Aaron Chasteen. Marion is preceded in death by his parents and his only brother Leroy Byron Chasteen.

Marion was raised in the Presbyterian Church and has been affiliated with the Apostolic Revival Church of Highland and the First Apostolic Church of Greenville.

Dear ARC,

As we embark on another year I feel the excitement begin to stir inside. What is it that causes this sort of excitement? I began thinking about the “beginnings” of my own life (many of you will be able to relate). The first day of school was always and exciting time – although the excitement was short lived! How about the beginning of a life-long relationship with the love of your life? The birth of a baby or even moving into a new home? Beginnings offer hope that results in excitement. Well, God has offered us another year to do whatever we want to with it. He has given us the freedom of choice to make this year the greatest year we've ever had. I desire to make wise decisions this year which will result in God's blessings. I challenge you to do the same! Put God first and seek His direction and you will save yourself much heartache and pain. I challenge ARC to make this the best year our church has ever had. Teach a Bible study and win a soul in 2011 – you can do it!!! Sister Crossin and I are opening our home on Tuesday evenings to teach Home Bible Studies to those who desire to hear the Gospel. This is the best way to grow a church; but more importantly, help save souls.

I pray God's richest blessings on every family in 2011.

Dear ARC,

What a joyous time of year to celebrate the birth of Christ with those we love. My prayer is for you to enjoy the busy season of Christmas. Yes, lots to do from shopping to parties to programs to attend as well as perform in; but remember this is the most wonderful time of year! Savor every song, decoration and most of all what the season is all about – the birth of Christ. The annual Christmas party will be at the Lion's Club in Marine on the 11^th. Come and enjoy the food and fellowship. Also, the Christmas program will be on the 19^th and will begin at 6:00 p.m. Be sure to invite your friends and neighbors. It will last a little over an hour and will be very good. I would love to pack the church out for the program this year.

In my opinion, fall is the most beautiful time of year. Not only do the trees reach their brilliant peak, so does the weather. Before long we will once again enjoy our time together around a fire at our annual harvest party, October 9^th at the Alhambra Park. It will begin at 6:00 p.m. We will also be hosting a youth rally the night before at 7:30. Once again, Reverend Anthony Gally will be preaching the rally. He will also preach our annual revival starting on the 10^th. I am so looking forward to seeing Brother and Sister Gally, along with their children. They are friends of ARC and we love and appreciate them. Make sure that you not only attend the harvest party and services; but also invite as many as you can. Because we are so blessed to have such a unified and loving church, we must tell others so they can also be a part of such a great work. I'm proud to be a part of ARC!

Don't forget that the deadline to have your money in for the marriage retreat is October 24^th. The cost is $200 per couple. This will include two full meals, lodging and two sessions by Reverend Travis Miller. The following Sunday Brother Daryle Williams will be with us.

Many exciting times ahead, lets glean all we can as we continue this exciting walk of faith.

With another summer behind us, I am very much looking forward to settling in and seeing what God has for our church the remainder of the year. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer. As a church, we not only survived all the vacations and various activities, but we had quite a few activities, as well. I'm still in awe with how well Rock-a-Block went. It was the highlight of the summer as far as I'm concerned. We've had SFC fundraisers, the church picnic and other outreaches. We didn't simply make it through the summer, we made quite a difference for the Kingdom. Now, we can gather back together as an entire church and put our effort and faith together and watch God do an even more glorious work through ARC.

Today is our back to school service and we would like to welcome the Hills. Brother Micah Hill preach last year and did a terrific job! We are looking forward to another great move of God. Also, today is SFC deadline. It looks like we are about to witness a record-breaking year. Thanks to everyone who participated in fundraisers and gave to the cause. You are a giving and hard working church and I pray God blesses each and everyone of you.

Finally, I want to remind everyone of the marriage retreat being held at Pere Marquette November 12^th & 13^th. We have room for twenty couples. The cost will be $200 per couple. This will include two full meals, lodging and two sessions by Reverend Travis Miller.
